South Yorkshire

The Yorkshire Health Study began in 2010 in South Yorkshire. It was called the South Yorkshire Cohort. Forty-two GP practices in South Yorkshire invited their patients to complete Health Questionnaires. 27802 Health Questionnaires were completed and sent to researchers at the University of Sheffield. This provides a fantastic resource for people involved in research about healthcare in South Yorkshire. This anonymised information also helps inform the local authorities and the NHS about the needs of the people in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. Below is an ‘infographic’ describing some of the characteristics of our participants who have agreed to be contacted again for future research.
